Hey, Owen Jones made a good point: they Israelis are saying that Trump’s envoy was the first time the Americans actually applied pressure. Meaning the Democrats have not been doing jack shit for a year now.
No worries, the Orange Stain will give Israel a blank check to flatten what is left of Gaza, West Bank, Golan Heights and southern Lebanon. One huge ass land grab. Thanks for voting and not voting dipshits.
Good Lord you Blue MAGA types have had your brains completely cooked
Fuck you nazi piece of shit. You’re describing the line you voted for.
You don’t get to be the one with the knife in your hand anymore. That’s all you’re upset about.
And you try to make up for it to yourself by engaging in attempted cruelty like this. Twisting the knife for as long as you still have it.
Fucking piece of shit.
Well…so far he’s done more for Gaza in -2 weeks than the Biden admin in +1 years…so here we are. I too doubt anything else good will come of it, but we’re still further ahead then the dems got us.
go see the .world version of this in their politics community; even now, when there’s data to prove this they continue to stick their heads in the sand and it makes me scared for the future.
They’re arrogant, ignorant, and cult like. They also sound exactly like the fascist they claim everyone else is. I guess getting banned from there was more of a blessing than anything. I tried to warn them but they just assumed anyone who dared to question Biden & Kamala were Russian.
The true failing of liberals does not lie in ignorance, but in their devotion to it. They clutch to it like a security blanket, as if the act of not knowing were a virtue rather than a vice. It is not stupidity, but a wilful, self-satisfied refusal to step out of their bubble, that renders them so insufferable.
I saw one cheering for forcing federal employees to return to office.
i’m expecting them to ban me as well since i practically spammed that post in the last hour or so.
Edit: they deleted the post instead. lol
You folks know that we are “in the same room” as you?
:P
I’m glad y’all are here. Lemmy is a small community. I hope we can continue to make this a welcoming place that will attract people away from corporate social media.
Let’s not make a culture war where there should be a class war.
nobody’s trying to make it a culture war. It just happens that most of .world is happily fighting the class war on behalf of the propertied classes because they have a blue circle with a D in it.
It’s good to hear that criticism sometimes. Thank you.

Not really but they will ban you for casual homophobia like this.
Also, I don’t let my oppressor tell me who my enemy is.

You folks know that we are “in the same room” as you?
honestly i forget most of the time. lol
there are so many liberals on lemmy, especially on .world that rarely post/comment and it makes me forget that they’re there lurking most of the time so i’m glad you commented; this community could be better by the addition so it more closely mirrors the activity of the other leftists communities.
my like minded friend is right; an overwhelming majority of liberals exhibit provocative behavior when confronted w their behavior regarding lots of things including the genocide; exactly like the post i was referring to in my comment.
i was getting meaningful engagement w people who couldn’t/wouldn’t appreciate the gravity of a genocide and it’s impact on the election and i think it helped me understand a little bit more why something so obvious to me wasn’t so obvious to them; then they removed the post simply because it was a substack article on a yougov poll explaining that kamala harris lost the election due to the genocide.
bieng able to talk about things like this wo the mod who deleted that post having the ability to delete this discourse about it, is what makes lemmy worthwhile; but the class war is going to take a while longer if our somewhat-likeminded friends continue to insist on these provocative behaviors on lemmy.
That sounds frustrating. Lately I have been trying to think if there is a good way to help promote political discussion in a really constructive way.
I don’t know your specific situation. I moderate a community and yeah sometimes a post will end up with a lot of aggression in the comments so rather than try to make a lot of nuanced judgement calls I’ll remove the post with an apology to OP.
I also have made a lot of mistakes. I’m certainly learning a lot about being a better online citizen.
not frustrating at all; simply par for the course when talking to people from .world and i wish that there were more that could break that mold.
also: bieng a halfway decent online citizen should be a requirement for any mod; but clearly not on .world or .ee.
Except you folks are the one that try to make it into a culture war when you banned people that brought up Kamala’s statements on her unconditional support of genocide & her cozying up to neocons like Liz Cheney. Just last week Biden was giving Cheney a medal of honor & named an aircraft carrier after George Bush. If “you folks” want it to be a class war then stop banning people pointing out that it is a class war, while you engage in a culture war.
Sorry I wasn’t aware of that situation. Talking about politics on the internet, or in real life for that matter, is tricky to do in a constructive way. Thanks for being in my virtual neighborhood and helping us learn together.
She is not one of the good guys.
Still unfathomable to me. I hope those that stayed home think of their choice when Trump fully and vocally supports Israeli settlements across north Gaza.
Then again: “Grim noted some caveats, pointing out that "even if October 7 and the resulting genocide had never happened, it’s fair to assume some number of those non-voters still would not have voted, and would have cited a different top reason for not voting.” Yeah, Harris was just never going to get some of those votes. But enough to swing the election? I guess we’ll never know.
What instance am I on? This is a . world take.
so far; it’s looking like trump is the better option due to the ceasefire and i hate admitting it; i hate admitting even more that he failed.
Trump isn’t President until next week.
The election happened in November. Even if Biden got the deal which it appears that Trump had a part in it, it didn’t happen until after the election. We saw Biden for the Zionist genocide-enabler that he is, and Kamala said she couldn’t think of anything she’d do differently, well except she’d have Republicans in her cabinet.
he didn’t let that stop him; he sent his emissaries to doha and brokered a cease fire earlier today.
Remember that time President Carter arranged to free the hostages, then Ronald Reagan snuck in and had Iran wait on announcing their release until he was inaugurated, so that he could claim credit?
Oh, and didn’t Nixon pull a similar trick with Vietnam?
Must be an incoming GOP President maneuver.
ETA Gotta love this left-field static yammering on about Biden because nobody can comprehend that my comment was in response to a hot take on how trump wrangled a ceasefire deal JFC
Except no one prevented Biden from ending the genocide, making the comparisons incoherent.
What are you even looking at?
I was responding to a comment claiming that trump sent his emissaries to doha to broker a ceasefire.
As in trump is taking credit. I said nothing about Biden.
That just makes it even fucking worse that the Democrats continued to send tens of billions of dollars to Israel, deploy the US military to assist them, and block every diplomatic attempt to stop them.
Can you imagine is Carter kept repeatedly swearing his allegiance to Iran during the hostage crisis?
it’s an american empire thing; even the liberals on .world deleted the post rather than accept that the genocide had anything to do with it.
