Lemmygrad is hilarious, but I’m rather confused by hexbear. I genuinely cannot fathom if they’re serious or trolling

relax. even if that were the case, it doesn’t mean anything. nothing is going to change as a result of their hyperbole, serious or not. and in all likelihood they’re just blowing smoke for the fucks and chuckles. nothing is going to come from any of the shit any of us type on these random barely noticed message boards frequented by less than a hundred or so people spread out across several continents.

it’s not like spez is on lemmygrad. you’ve got several threads going about this. if you really don’t like them that much, block them.

ok, but i don’t see any hate speech here. calling someone a “CIA shill” or “braindead cavemen(also known as liberals)” is pretty common political discourse these days. it’s lame and anyone saying that shit shouldn’t be taken seriously, but it’s not attacking protected classes or anything. to my knowledge, that doesn’t fall under any definitions of hate speech that i’m aware of.

it’s just tribal cheerleading. boring derivative. but somewhat accepted, even if poor behavior.

I used to peek at Voat every once in a while. I bet some people here have heard of it? If was one of the websites that sprung up when reddit had one of its “exoduses”. Voat became crazy right wing. I mean, openly nazi, out loud racist, vile people. The loud minority. Well, I liked to poke at them every once in a while and it wasn’t long before I was labeled a “Jew shill”. IDK how that even happened. This reminded me of it.

I was a very prominent member of voat during its early days. My account was disabled and shut down multiple times, though the Admins often reinstated my account. Likewise, I was on said.it and ruqqus, same deal, too many extremists which then shut down the site.

It happens because mainstream social media sites shoo away extremists, which is fine, but inevitably big social media sites collapse little-by-little, and so the only alternatives are extremist places. Then it’s a whole loop, no one wants to engage because of the lack of diversity, and eventually, the whole site shuts down, and everyone goes back to mainstream social media. I mean look at my account and this community for instance–the exact same thing is happening again, a handful of extreme no-lives are trying to shut down opposing views.

      Thankfully, though, Lemmy is federated.

Bro these guys can’t be for real, they talk like they’re a satire in South Park or something 💀
