He said the US was “deeply concerned” about an incident in which a Chinese fighter jet was accused of dropping flares close to an Australian helicopter in the Yellow Sea (between China’s eastern coast and South Korea’s western coast) on Saturday.
Kritenbrink said the incident was part of a broader trend in which China’s military was becoming “more aggressive and assertive at operating in waters and airspace on the periphery of China”.
Complete lack of self awareness
what the fuck is a austrailian helicopter doing there in the first place?
That’s exactly the question you won’t see in any western media. I’m not a fan of militarism in any context but whenever these stories come up it’s worth remembering that the Empire has a massive military presence surrounding China, not the other way around.
When you make a deal with the empire, don’t be surprised when they alter the terms later in their favor.
Considering Australia is more than happy to give the US full control over military/spy bases (Pine Gap) on their territory I’d say this isn’t particularly surprising.
Yeah, poodles don’t actually own any of their toys.
The US doesn’t give you military equipment, you give the US bodies to operate their military equipment.
Also you pay for it.
Oh, of course sir, yes sir. Sorry sir. We’ll try to do better next time sir, we shouldn’t have assumed your subs that we purchased from you, our benevolent overlord, would be ours. We’ll keep in mind in the future that we are paying for the incredible privilege of being one of your overseas military bases. Would you like us to slash funding to medicare or centrelink so your billionaires can profit, as penance for our shameful actions?
The US could sell them a subscription service to unlock all the features. Submarine as a Service (SaaS).
