That’s how it goes. They know someone who knows some guy’s cousin who read part of an Amazon review for The Black of Communism and now they are completely committed to the idea that Communism is evil and full of Nazis

It’s honestly pretty evil what western politicians have done to the words “freedom” and “democracy” over the last century-ish (maybe longer, but specifically since the USSR). They’ve completely twisted the assumed meanings so they’re not “technically lying” when they say they want to bring freedom to somewhere heading towards a socialist government.

Freedom to them just means “freedom” for “anyone” (people with capital…) to “create jobs” (exploit people). And “democracy” doesn’t apply to your workplace (that would infringe on the precious rights of those capital holders and thus be “unfreedom”!), no, it just applies to some vague idea of civil rights “guaranteed” (until it’s inconvenient…) by a liberal, “democratically” elected republic. Never mind that the representatives don’t actually represent the population. It’s democracy!.. ! What’s that? You want protections from your boss? Ok, but have you considered just obtaining capital yourself? You could be the boss! See, freedom! Now get grinding!

And many people just eat this mashed dogshit for breakfast, thinking it’s fine or it can’t be any other way. Tasty, tasty dogshit known as liberalism. Mmm.
