It’s funny you should mention that because in a related note, people with schizophrenia in Western countries usually are met with angry or horrific experiences, while people from non-Western countries usually report seeing or hearing loved ones trying to soothe them. True AI in western literature are, with small exceptions like Culture series, nearly uniformly racist, paranoid and genocidal as fuck, or enslaved without further comment (like droids in Star Wars) while in old socialist sci-fi they are usually more or less like humans.
My conclusion is to never fucking ever allow capitalists and especially tech corpos to develop true AI.
