I’ve found a community I’m interested in already here on Lemmy.world, but the current moderator / leader hasn’t made a post in a few months.

Are there rules for an official “takeover” of such a community? I feel like it is important to have an active moderator to ensure that bad-actors are discouraged appropriately before investing my time posting/curating a community.

I don’t want to publicly post / shame the community quite yet. I’m just looking for rules in the abstract for now.
