Moderation has gotten out of control on the internet, where people abuse their powers to perpetuate narratives they like while censoring ones they don’t.

Where can I find lemmy instances that support freedom of speech? It’s fine if you don’t like it or have issues with it (feel free to move on without a reply!)

Update: Thanks to the recommendation of @[email protected], I checked the blocked instances of lemmy.world and found https://welppp.com/

I just came across it, so it may not actually support freedom of speech, but it looks promising.

If anyone has alternatives, still feel free to share them 🙂

Here at db0 is about as free as you can get…

    EXCEPT.

If your definition of “free speech” is “I want to be racist or homophobic”, which I suspect this is, go kick rocks loser.

I’m interested in servers where other people are allowed to express their views, bigoted as they may be.

      go kick rocks loser.

If you don’t have an answer, you could always move on to another thread instead of insulting me. Reported.

            Sure it is.

And even if it weren’t that doesn’t make your comment about you getting butt hurt from someone telling you to be better for seeking out where you can be a bigot any less ironic.

This isn’t one of those instances where freedom of speech is allowed.

              Be respectful of others.

Gonna ignore you now since you don’t have an answer to my question.

So you’re literally just window shopping for somewhere you don’t have to treat people with respect and decency. No wonder you’re being identified as a chud.

                No tolerance for the intolerant.

          Be respectful of others.

I guess we just have “Jim Crow” rules where mods pick and choose who to enforce them for 🤷

Another reason why I want an instance that doesn’t leave it up to the ‘whims’ of whoever is moderating to decide what gets to stay.

You end up with places like this that blatantly allow personal insults as long as you’re insulting the “correct” people.

Thank you. I was referring to the user I reported.

He’s clearly breaking a rule, but I suspect the mods won’t care because he’s on “their side.”

I’m not sure what language you seek to use, but generally speaking, people don’t like to be called offensive terms.

I mean, if I want to identify as a [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] pregnant penguin, that’s my business. But it helps everyone’s morale to try to avoid bad words and offensive language.
