A community dedicated to documenting, discussing and critiquing government
overreach from the UK Government in terms of censorship, freedom of speech and
right to privacy and private communication. ## Rules (literally 1984, I know) -
Not dedicated to one idea or the other. Censorship in general should be called
out. - Keep it on topic. Don’t turn this into a discussion space dedicated to
the ideas or things that the British Government may be censoring (Except for
commentary in the comment sections, provided it’s civil - we don’t want people
falling out here) - Parody posts are allowed (like the Boris Johnson clubcard
points meme or links to relevant Tom Scott videos) as long as they don’t get too
much - Posts must be generally based around the UK and actions of the UK
government. Articles about propositions by opposition parties and such are also
fine. This community isn’t set up to critcise on one specific political party -
Article titles mustn’t be changed too much unless necessary to add context. When
doing so, use brackets, except for when expanding abbreviations - Try not to get
arrested - We are not responsible for loss of clubcard points
James Bond is a reactionary relic of an imperial past but also woven into the fabric of British society with a big impact on global culture.
With the takeover by Amazon, we may see the franchise get driven off a cliff or just merciless exploited until Jeff Bezos has milked the cash cow dry and soured everyone against it or it could take the suave spy to new heights of cultural dominance.
Whatever happens (perhaps all of that in turn) it should be Interesting to watch, especially with new developments coming thick and fast. So strap yourself in and grab some 🍿.
Can it be worse than saying that you can rape a woman into becoming straight and she’ll like it? I highly doubt it.
