I was randomly banned without warning. I was posting and next thing I know, I had a message saying I’ve been suspended permentaly and to check my inbox. It was a generic message with “repeatedly violating multiple rules of conduct” and I was so confused. I followed their directions by checking my other account and i got nothing in it until hours later when I got that exact same message. Both appeals were denied. I’ve also contacted support but I hear they never respond back or it can take 2-3 months.

Has anyone been able to get their perm suspension uplifted or just create a new account and not get banned for ban evasion? How did you do it?

I’ve only been banned by device and email because my husband and son didn’t get banned. We all share the same wi fi.

You are shit outta luck friend.

Same exact shit happened to me. Both my accounts got banned without warning. Some nonsense about “violation of TOS”. I appealed asking what rule I broke and it was instantly declined.

I opened a new email on a new Internet source and made a fresh account. It got banned withing 30 minutes for “ban evasion”. I literally do not know how they even know it’s me. There was absolutely nothing that tied me to the old banned accounts. I used completely different information for everything and like I said a new Internet source as well as device.

They have your Internet fingerprint or whatever and you’re cooked for good. Enjoy your new life with lots of free time or just doing it all into Lemmy.

Fuck reddit and their ban happy bots.

Yeah fingerprinting can isolate you pretty well. The whole ad/ marketing industry ‘depends’ on it. If you have webgl enabled you’re fucked because they’ll get a whole bunch of information on your monitors and gpu which is a good identifier even if two people have the same gpu. Apart from webgl, there are also tracking techniques with Javascript, invisible pixels, local storage, ip addresses, etc.

If you want to start protecting yourself a bit more then look into librewolf (a hardened Firefox fork) and turn off Javascript unless you explicitly allow it on a given site. There’s more you can do but like i said this would be a “start”

I think that’s just a Firefox acct that uses firefox sync if you enable it. To remove it turn off sync and i imagine you can log out of the acct.

if your using the same IP or DEVICE they know its you, even with new accounts. i think my other accounts survived this long until the great purge in feb 12-13th, is i created most of them on a university computer lab, seperate from my home. wish i could go back to the university computer labs, but it would be awkward, although the school does allow general wifi usage for the public, but its extremely slow.

if you have nearby colleges with wifi that guests can access you can make acc that way.
