minus-squarecaptainlezbian@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up25arrow-down1·11 months agoIt’s a vocalization of gratitude. It’s pointless except for the fact that you’re a social animal and saying things influences how you think

minus-squarehswolf@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down2·11 months agohow would you be appreciative of an inanimate object?
minus-squaremagnetosphere@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up3·11 months agoJust by being glad you have it/glad it exists.
minus-squarehswolf@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·11 months agoand why expressing It verbally would be a weird thing, everyone does things a little bit differently don’t you agree?
minus-squaremagnetosphere@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up2·11 months agoI did not say “weird”. I said “seems pointless”. I was careful to avoid judgmental or insulting language. My phrasing suggested that the issue might be ignorance on my part, not because someone else was being “weird”. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t put words in my mouth.
