California and the rest of the coastal cities are what most would consider as “developed.” Texas is devolving. They’re making their America like Yemen, and likewise they want brown poors to live on the otherside of the wall where they can’t see them, but also want to benefit from exploitation of their labor.
It’s not at all unusual in the US. I know several such couples in the Bay Area and LA.
