@GeekFTW the way he talked about it makes me think that he suspects TNA was losing money. Maybe that has been the state of things for a while and what they wanted out of TNA was to start being profitable or cut costs. But if D’Amore was asking for money and to increase budget, that’s just not a guy who will do the cost cutting that they need. Theory: they let D’Amore try to increase revenue but his time was up and now it’s time to contain costs.
Money could be a big part of it for sure. From what I read Anthem overruled D’Amore’s decision to bring in Braun (back before he came back to WWE) due to (iirc) a negotiated $11million salary, which D’Amore wasn’t pleased with being overruled on.
I’d have been less pleased with paying $11million for Braun fuckin’ Stowman, personally.
