I’ve now made it a habit to tidy up the house as much as I can for a trip 5 or more days long - even if it means I’m up till 2am or am in a sweaty mess. First priority is packing of course, then dishes (including putting them away), overall tidying, bins, vacuum, laundry, and if I have time, new sheets.
