that’s really sick… kancils and miras go so hard. if i had the cash i want to build one and put screamer pipe on it to do a bit of trolling

will the intercooler be sitting on top?

also, please share the build on !cars if you feel like it!

It is mostly stock, I took the engine from my cousin after he wrecked his Kancil. Just we just finished rebuilding the engine, it needed a new camshaft, piston rings and a new turbo. Next up is the wiring and fuel pump.

Exterior wise,it is stock as it can be with the original 12" rims. The intercooler will still sit on the top but I heard it can have some cooling issues if you still use the original hood but my brother thinks it’s fine. We don’t want to cut the bumper to make room for a front mounted intercooler.

I thought about letting the car “retire” back in Terengganu and just let my mom use it but because its a manual it’s not going to be used. So I’m going to leave my current daily (also a Kancil but with a 1.0L engine and auto) in Terengganu instead.

Anyways, a cheap Kancil build is a Kancil 850 with an Iswara carburetor. Those fuckers can really go.

i would be worried about heatsoak as well as engine knock… maybe get a hood scoop like WRX, i think you can even DIY it

Would you be running stock ECU? easy to tune?

Honestly, I hate the look of the hood scoop, read somewhere thag some people used washers to slightly lift the hood.

It would be running the stock ECU, most people use piggybacks but mine will be kept stock as I’m looking for reliability not performance.

Or you could try vents? They are more subtle.

On the contrary I think tuning it makes it more reliable, it’s possible to run a safe tune and lower the boost. Can even retain stock power. May need specialised ECU and specialist for that sort of 3D tuning tho.

Hopefully not too many issues there and ECU like what you did to the car. I have a few friends with untuned modified car, runs so rich it stinks lol.

But…muh sleeper. It’s being tested this week, we’ll see if it has any problems with cooling.

I wouldn’t say the engine is modified though, it originally came in the Daihatsu Mira L5, my cousin bought the halfcut and stuffed it in his car. So the engine is technically “stock” because we didn’t do any modifications. I originally thought you meant the orginal ECU as in the one that came in the halfcut.

wait, it came turbocharged from the factory? i thought you’re doing a full turbo swap or sth. if that’s the case tuning probably isn’t warranted.
