This appears to be overstated. The “offend Donald Trump” comment comes from Oliver Darcy, who left CNN in August 2024 to focus full time on his email newsletter and website, Status, which focuses on news about the media industry.

This is Oliver Darcy’s take, and no one else’s.

“Why is my movie not being shown on NBC prior to the election?” Morris wrote on X. “It’s about a policy that was disgusting and should not be allowed to happen again. Make your own inferences.”

    Very amusing, even more worrisome.

“Fears it could offend Donald Trump”

The sentence alone is troubling… Who on this earth doesn’t hope, even pray for, that their words would offend and damage as much as possible, when addressing Donald Trump?

One of my greatest disappointments in life is that I have not personally given offense directly to DT. I am in no position to offend him to his face, and I will have to somehow content myself with hating him from afar. I simply can’t imagine passing up the opportunity to offend him.

I assume they delay the release to avoid being seen as interfering in the election.

But would it really be better to annoy tyrant Trump than candidate Trump (if he seizes power)?
