Mum’s in the ED tonight after her fall 6 days ago (well 2 falls in two weeks). I’m super worried. Delayed concussion ABI IV (she only has vision in one eye and now the other is gone) this is not good.

Her life is about to change drastically and it’s going to be an awful adjustment for her and I just feel so sad.

i’m not sure how to go about this.

An unsurprising day (mostly) offline. It’s been good, but I still make choc chip bikkies at 9:30pm, so probably says a lot about my state of mind. They didn’t even turn out that good. Went shopping but everything I bought (mostly sparkly makeup) I already have similar stuff to, but I’m taking it as buying things that bring me joy.

Cried when I went into my bedroom earlier, just thinking the little dog would have lifted his head as I turned on the light. It’s gonna take time to break these habits, that muscle memory.

Well I fucking nailed that Butter Chicken. Both kids had seconds. That never happens lately. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes and managed to crisp up the chicken perfectly.

My illustrated edition of the Hobbit did turn up and my god, I can’t believe I got so much book for $16. It’s got gold on the cloth bound hardcover, it’s nice and thick with glossy paper stock, and it’s full of drawings.

Independent book stores could sell this for $36, saying it’s marked down from $70 and they’d move so many units.

    Book Photos

Anxiety has been bad today. I’m not even thinking about you know what. It’s just there with the rest of my life and everything is making it worse.

I forced myself to quickly go out for newspaper to line plant pots but they didn’t have any. Some dodgy characters around but luckily nothing came of it.

I’ve planted two of the largest zucchini seedlings out but ran out of potting mix and energy because those pots were pretty big. I don’t eat much or exercise enough for physical work like lifting and shoveling so now feeling kind of shaky… but I kind of had to move and do something.

Also they’re growing fast and I don’t think I can keep all of them.

I wish you could get smaller size seed packs or a bundle with like a few seeds of each type. Maybe a seed library could sort me out but I think that’s enough ‘outside’ for now.

Gibson in her first week living at my place ❤️

It was an adjustment for both of us. I didn’t really know anything about cats, let alone kittens. The day I went and picked her up I bought one of everything at the pet section at kmart lol

The sneak attacks were on a whole other level. She’d jump and stick to my legs with her sharp as fuck little claws 😂

It was a really fun time. Very enjoyable :)

Ate too fast and burping like a mofo. Really enjoying the first episode of Poker Face even though Natasha Lyonne’s voice annoys the heck out of me

Unwinding to some Quincy Jones tracks (so much MJ!) as is the theme across so many PBS programs this week…

I’m NOT going to think about packing or selling items tonight, I’m just tapped out.

Got a friend coming over tomorrow to help work out this couch bizzo and provide some distraction from all the packing and culling.

Wonder what movie or tv series I could blank my brain out with this evening.

E: I’m thinking of Poker Face or maybe Happy Valley, never watched that most famous of UK cozy country cop shows

That course I got a massive discount on? Given the total class numbers, yikes. And I can tell who the other not full price person is. Bad data handling.

Ah yes, I am so very, intimately familiar with that Act 😅

If look into making a report to the institution, as I believe that is the first step. If emails are not BCC (as in the teacher/institution has sent an email to students, and only cc students, every student can see each other’s emails; BCC stops that, as an example), then that is a breach.

If identifying information of a student/students has been revealed in an email to multiple people, also a breach.

Again, first step is usually reporting it to the institution, some places do have an email to send privacy breaches to specifically, so a google for ‘privacy breach report’ + ‘institution name’ it may bring up that contact info.

This page is also helpful and may have different info regarding reporting: https://www.oaic.gov.au/privacy/notifiable-data-breaches

Today I’ve had 4 coffees, 1 slice of cake, a few mouthfuls of Twisties, some challah, 3 chocolate chip cookies and a can of tuna.

Now I need to decide what to eat for dinner.

Why isn’t frozen mirepoix a thing? In convenient sized sachets? We can purchase frozen everything else, why not that? It’s just finely diced carrot, onion and celery. There’s a marketing opportunity here - a sachet of mirepoix and a bag of good chook stock in the same pack - would save so much hassle assembling and chopping etc.
