Does your beard grow quick though? But yeah, how much a full, thick beard changes your appearance is often underestimated.

- Finding out nobody cared that much about my beard missing, except some close friends/partner but they also know me
It’s mostly about my family, especially my mom. She’s a different kind of judgmental sometimes. And she’s the last person I want to get a sniff about me changing in any way.
Honestly shaving makes a huuge difference.
I know… I’m happy it’s long pants season again so I can shave my legs and it hits completely different.
I might shave my face, too, but only when I don’t have to meet with my family for a few weeks so I can grow some of my beard back. After New Year is probably gonna be good time since it’s probably scarf season anyway.
It should be, but isn’t exactly for my family. They’re already completely losing their shit when I tap a toe outside my usual ‘I wear black until there’s something darker’-presentation.
Shaving. Now, that also does have something to do with low self-esteem and being scared about how I’d look without beard since I am bearded for half my life and didn’t shave my face smooth since I was 16, but I’d like to try but then everybody and their mom would ask why and I don’t want to answer (I’m a bad liar and don’t feel comfortable lying, too).
Edit: I appreciate y’all wanting to help, but please stop. I didn’t ask for advice, I’ll probably eventually figure something out and I kinda feel pressured and pushed, it’s really not great. Sharing your own experiences is fine, but more is really not needed (especially if you’re suggesting coming up with excuses)
That’s what I don’t understand about many U.S. lefts. I do understand that the Democrats ain’t perfect and that they have some weird positions. But your elective system (which is kind of screwed from the start anyway) only has two possible outcomes, dems or reps. And the two of them are not equally bad, so why take away votes from the by far not that bad option, strengthening the really bad option?
However, very early in the movie he says “If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, you become something else entirely” so it seems obvious in hindsight that this applies to Ra’s as well as if applies to Batman.
But that doesn’t mean Henri Ducard became a Ra’s Al Ghul or Ra’s Al Ghul became the League of Shadows. It’s like a religious thing, like christians consider themselves reborn after baptism.
Hell, I always thought Ken Watanabe was Ra’s Al Ghul and the title passed on to Liam Neeson after the former died.
I can see where you’re coming from, I’d expect some quote like “I am Ra’s Al Ghul now” or something.
Again, I can see your interpretation, but I think Ra’s Al Ghul simply being a name is far less a stretch and requires fewer assumptions.
- He literally says 'we have been around for 1000 years and since Nolanverse is devoid of any fantastical elements, passing the torch is the only possible explanation.
I always thought he meant the League of Shadows, not a single position.
- Her name is Talia Al Ghul from Doylist perspective but not from Watsonian.
She calls Ra’s Al Ghul her father. It may be an interpretation that Al Ghul is a name, but so is the title interpretation. And imho the name is far less of a stretch.
only real difference is the few times a white character is casted black the movie ends up being bad anyways.
Shawshank Redemption. In the source novel, Morgan Freeman’ character was a white irish guy. The reasons nobody complained were probably that a. there was no Xitter when the movie hit theaters and b. nobody knows it’s an adaptation anyway.
No, I don’t thinking would work since his daughter’s called Thalia Al Ghul, indicating Al Ghul is a family name.
Also,we don’t need to make up apologies for whitewashing.
Click yourself randomly through lexicanum and pick a book based on which stories you find the most intriguing. Or start with the Horus Heresy, they’re not bad books and it’s chronologically in order
think lineage is probably the one, although that one doesn’t seem completely de-googled? I see some people talking about a version that is but something about signature spoofing and thats a security problem…
I’m not sure tbh, I’m not using Lineage myself. I tried it on a VM once and there was Google stuff all over it, so I asked online and Lineage users told me it was a weird VM image and their phones were degoogled.
I don’t want to do graphene because it just seems hypocritical to buy a google phone when I’m trying to stop giving google money and my data.
Uff, I almost already thought I were the only one thinking this way xD It’s my issue with Graphene, too, and I wish FP would make a phone in collaboration with Graphene so I could have both lol
I think my only hang up there is the lack of a wireless charger. I can get past that but I have a number of wireless chargers in my house and cars that I do enjoy. Weird that it doesn’t have it
I can see wireless charging can be a nice commodity, but FP gives a reason, it’s not weird and it’s the same reason I personally stay away from wireless charging phones in general: it’s an utter waste of energy. Wireless charging needs around 50% more power compared to regular USB-C-charging and for a company that’s focused on reducing waste and being sustainable where possible, I guess it’s an easy way.
LineageOS supports the most devices, GrapheneOS is the absolute best if you’re looking for privacy and security and have a Pixel Phone. You can buy Fairphones and Teracube with /e/OS preinstalled if you’re insecure about flashing your phone yourself.
That’s true, unfortunately.
Btw, if you’re into FP for sustainability reasons, maybe you want to look at Teracube
Yes, but I use it as a springboard to shoot against Google in general.
Yeah, if it was supported on other devices than a Google Phone, I’d probably love it (yes I know, it’s due to hardware that apparently no other manufacturer uses, but still it annoys me. A Fairphone with Graphene is my wet dream).
But then you’d still have a googled phone.
Because only people who are able to afford a day off are supposed to vote. That’s also why republicans agitate against postal voting and why early vote ballot drop-offs are burning.
