I didn’t actually call myself an enlightened centrist. I don’t really think most people would consider me to be one either. I am from Denmark and we have mostly leftistish parties. I vote blank because even here, you can bet your sorry ass all the politicians are liars and bigots. Wouldn’t really want to support that. Was considering not voting at the last election but then the media would probably just count my non-vote as some kind of lazy citizen with no regard for democracy. That’s usually what non-votes are categorised as here anyway. If I had to vote on a party today it would probably be “liberal alliance” which is the most liberal party in Denmark. It is considered a right leaning party in Denmark because they want a flat rate income tax of 40%. Either that or alternativet which has a primary focus on the climate. You probably don’t have to resort to calling others turds because they disagree with you. That’s not very nice, really… Definitely not furthering a meaningful dialogue.

Yea I agree there’s too little focus on the climate challenges om the right side of the political spectrum. Not gonna lie. Thanks for your perspective, I do appreciate it. I also think there’s an issue in labeling people left/right when in fact it has nothing to do with that. It’s a question of living in a fantasy world or not, truly. I don’t like that at all. It’s hard to be a liberalist (in the classical sense, I know you have quite special political environment in the US where “liberal” is more like slightly socialist) and yet not be segmented as a climate denier. Actually I vote blank on purpose because none of the 10 parties here are able to represent my views.

I have a nagging suspicion that the suggested platform is right leaning. I certainly would not want that. Not really. You’re gaslighting people who you dont agree with simply because they are perspectivised. Seems a bit unreasonable to be honest. One can be centrist without being conservative or right wing. And the part about being afraid of judgement is just far out my dude. Consider it.

What are you talking about destabilising the US? 😆 This is a decentralized platform, not reserved for the US people, in case you have not realised yet. The country where I am from actually is very good generally at not dividing people in only ‘left’ and ‘right’. Centrist parties have carried the country for the most part. We have a welfare society that most people in other countries seem to look up to. In my country, being liberal is considered right wing (nationalist conservatists considered most right wing). Don’t forget that most people with an opinion have good reason to believe what they do. And everyone should be respected. Democracy wasn’t invented so a bunch of US leftists could create an echo chamber and complain about people who listen to both sides. People who vote for a party you don’t like are not automatically evil. One could argue your leftist parties in the US seem very eager to support the zionist regime in waging a war on civil citizens, aka. supporting the murder of political rivals, genocide, segregation, apartheid. As an outsider, the US political debate mostly looks very clownish, because both sides are just throwing stones whilst living in a glass empire. You need to check yourselves.

People just don’t get it. All they want is dead Russians. I myself would prefer humiliated and defeated Russians, not necessarily dead. All they have to do is capitulate and admit they are losers and ill be happy.

He has not. Get over yourself. Could you live with yourself knowing your technology would be used to kill people? I certainly could not. It’s not like he sabotaged an operation, he simply refused to get blood on his hands. Which should be admirable, right? I don’t quite understand the rage against this guy, imo he’s one of the more likeable and interesting billionaires in the world. At least he has visions and wants to change the world for the better, something you cannot say about Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg etc.

She broke the law and was fined. Honestly, that’s a pretty mild punishment. She could’ve probably been sentenced to prison, at least that would have been possible in Denmark (neighboring country). She should consider herself pretty lucky IMO that she got a get out of jail card just on the basis that she’s a public figure known for disobeying the rules.

Whenever i see posts like these that mock political dissidents, I can’t help but wonder if there’s some underlying low self-esteem in the people who post it. If your political views are so much better than everyone else’s, can’t you just argue for that ideology instead of making a fool of other people for believing something else? This is the kind of toxic behavior that has resulted in our society being split and hateful and for that reason I had to downvote.
