Tax might rise a little bit for working people due to this, but as the rent that was expanded here (AHV) is a great distribution tool, around 90% of the population will later get more money back in rent than they’re paying into it now.

Also, the method to finance this is not yet set. Some centrist politicians are open to financing this by raising a tax on finance market transactions, which would probably be the most social. (And of course lefties like me would love to finance this with an inheritance tax, but that has almost no chance)

The part about “Marx said revolutions would come from industrial centers” is also commonly misinterpreted. Marx said that this would be how it would work out in western europe, but he actually even speculated that in a country like Russia, it might come from the peasantry instead.

In my experience it strongly depends on the organizers. The latest pro-palestine rally i attended was organized by some leftist organizations in coalition with local palestinians and that rally worked out very well. Some conspiracy nuts with signs how Jews rule the world were told to fuck off by some Antifa guys and everything else went very well. Also no national flags besides palestinian ones were allowed, i appreciated that a lot.
