  • Dude I don’t know this is annoying and pretty dumb. The first one on the list I haven’t read has nothing to even do with the USA? Can you share a statement the USA has made in an official capacity like the first one on the list I allegedly haven’t read?

This is just a bunch of whataboutism and changing the subject. I get you allegedly might not like nuclear weapons but most counties that have them don’t constantly threaten to use them for every perceived aggression.

Russian retoric has gotten pretty escalatory and I can’t say I’ve seen the same for the USA recently. They have some north Korean energy… So please prove me wrong or just stop. Show me where the USA is threatening the apocalypse with Russia to secure concessions from non nuclear armed states? I’ll even take an official NATO statement saying we are in a hot war with Russia and will need to escalate to using nukes first if that’s easier? To be clear we are taking post ussr.

Most counties don’t try to hold the world hostage with nuclear blackmail. Please just drop it…

  • Pretty much this. I would like to avoid a bunch of posts with little engagement if possible.

I understand that that’s hard with smaller spaces but a bunch of posts with 0 comments is usually a turnoff when I look at a community. Kind of raises the sketchy incel/alt-right feeder community vibe in my mind.

I like the idea of this community I never really saw one on reddit nore did I really seek one out. Honestly current events even with trolls would be fine if it could be kept respectful. They usually just make a fool of themselves or ratioed.

    Times are changing.

  • That’s crazy is there a breakdown of the bandwidth? Like is it federation, images or ddos using so much bandwidth?

I know you are looking/found a solution but if the main culprit is images would it be possible to offload it to a few servers? I feel like running multiple image server instances would be cheaper for bandwidth. Oracle cloud offers 10tb outbound a month for free per region/month on the free teir. Or is an unmetered host viable? From my understanding Lemmy is pretty light in terms of CPU/memory or does that fall apart at scale?

If you don’t mind and it’s not too much trouble would you be willing to share stuff like load average/disk use?

Edit I looked this over again. Not an endorsement for giving oracle or Larry Ellison money, they are awful. I was just was trying to say the free stuff is generous. You can use 40tb outbound without paying on the free resources. As always aggressive support for you Ada! Thanks for the transparency in your community!
