I agree, Muhammed’s fan base will kill you if you dare depict him, just look at what happened with Charlie Hebdo.

Does anybody know if it’s possible for individuals to file complaints against Meta or other services that use pay or okay models? I know that some non-profits have successfully done it, but I wonder if people could do it to as a way to pressure regulators even more.
Yes, the nuance is that Facebook must offer an alternative that does not use personal data, even if it means losing some of the features compared to when you pay (either with money or authorizing them to sell your data).
China: “Remove all VPNs” Apple: “Sure thing”
China: “…and podcast apps” Apple: “Can do boss!”
China: “…and also hand over all iCloud data for our citizens” Apple: “I mean why wouldn’t we? Here you go!”
EU: “Allow alternate app stores, and do it fairly” Apple: “Ahhh hell no! This is so unfair you guys are bullies! Malware! Privacy! We have standards! Unlike you we care about our users!”
We should thank Microsoft for rendering Windows absolutely unusable, to the point that many people are just jumping ship and installing a Linux distro.
An internal memo from the Prime Minister was leaked in which she asks cabinet members to stop using mainstream messaging apps and use Olvid (an app developped by a French startup) instead. She does not mention Signal specifically, but the implication is that other messaging apps have security flaws.
Meredith stresses that one may very well prefer one app to another based on different threat models, but that it is not fair to imply that an app is not secure without presenting proof.

It’s all explained in the document, basically the telecom companies realized that people do not send SMS anymore and that the value of them lies now on the companies that need to send you verification texts and other automated messages, as a consequence, they inflated the cost of those to extract as much money as they can. The document also describes fraudsters that register numbers en masse to drive SMS traffic on a particular network and then make money of the fees.
It’s a very interesting read, this is the second year in a row that I donate to the project. I encourage you to do it as well.
The technical capability for instant SEPA transfers already exists (and has existed for a while), this is about making it free for everyone (some banks charge an extra fee for instant transfers).
The convenience of streaming services disappeared, this is just a natural consequence.
I’m still using uBlock Origin to block ads everywhere, but I no longer use YouTube directly, instead I go through Invidious or Piped.
I’m happy to report that the vote was postponed because they did not have the votes for the proposal to pass. I know it is not a definitive victory because they will simply try to do it again, but it’s good that they failed once again.
It seems like it worked, the same guy published an update asking people to stop filing the same complaint again and again. The agency is looking into it.
Good riddance! 🇪🇺
Fake news. We now know that Israel had nothing to do with this, the explosion was caused by a malfunctioning rocket fired by a Jihad group in Palestine.
It could be simply luck because it is a slow rollout, or it could also be that you got the filter updates on the background. In any case, you know what to do if you ever run into it.
