241·7 months agoBucks County in Pennsylvania has filed a lawsuit against six major oil companies, accusing them of systematically misleading the public about the role of fossil fuels in global warming, seeking damages for climate change impacts like severe storms and flooding. This legal action makes Bucks County the first in the state to join a series of similar lawsuits by local governments across the United States, which aim to hold oil producers accountable for the environmental and economic costs of climate change.
The minimum wage is increasing in 25 states on Jan. 1, 2024, but Pennsylvania isn’t included on that list due to inaction by the Republican-controlled Pennsylvania Senate.
States across the country are moving to provide universal free school meals to all our children. Meanwhile, Republicans are trying to stop them from doing just that.
