I remember shortly after I voted Fidesz, I had to learn the hard way that the right doesn’t actually care about protecting children, but persecuting gays. Hungary had (and still has) an epidemic of teen girls being groomed en masse by older and rich men. However, Fidesz claims those girls are “being saved from poverty”, while for the same “crime” (unfortunately not legally, as our AoC is 14), gay people get called out, and unfortunately their whole community get shunned for daring to request that kids should be taught sex ed.
Unfortunately Republicans define pedos as LGBTQ+ people according to Project 2025. So this is yet another Nazi bill.
