Maybe I misunderstood, but this is true…

There are parts in the system forty times cheaper than the parts we buy normally. I can give you even a scoop—it contains the world’s only missile components from Toys R Us… One day I brought to work my sons toy car. We Passed it among us, and we saw that there were actually components suitable for us. More than that I can not tell

It seems a bit weird that they wouldn’t just buy the components rather than the whole toy car, could be to get around not being allowed to buy directly from China as a defence contractor or something?

Or maybe Chinese factories not being allowed to sell to a US defense contractor?

Or maybe its just cheaper because of the quantities of the components they need and if ordering them directly they get overpriced.

Or maybe its to make it more difficult for spys to work out what components they’re using.

Nah, buying direct would raise questions and most companies don’t particularly want to actually be weapons suppliers. Tamiya who they’re probably actually taking about would be unlikely to sell to Israel anyway given the Japanese governments stance on Israels relationship with it’s neighbors.
