As a non-Christmas-celebrating person, I actually prefer “Merry Christmas” to “Happy Holidays” because what other holidays are we really talking about? No one wishes me “happy holidays” around my tradition’s major holidays or any time it’s not Christmas, so let’s please stop pretending it’s about being inclusive and just enjoy Christmas if you celebrate.

Sorry, no one says “happy holidays” for Thanksgiving. There are numerous religious holidays which happen in the spring too (Easter, Passover, Holi, Nowruz, Ostara, and many more) and no one says “happy holidays” then either.

Yeah, even if you ignore everything but the Christian holidays because you’re an asshole who doesn’t want to acknowledge anyone who isn’t Christian, you have Christmas and New Year’s within a week of each other. Holidays.
