God this really sounds like the kind of talk that spouses of abusers use.
Like I get it. I really do understand there is worse but like “yeah but he doesn’t leave me bleeding on the floor and usually tells me why it was my fault he had to hit me and then bandages me up!” Makes anyone sane agasp in horror.
It’s a shitty take to support an abuser because they could be worse. Even though I get it when stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Edit: just because you are used to your own brand of abuse doesn’t mean the other side doesn’t see it. And even if they have normalized a worse abuser doesn’t mean it goes away when you try to hold moral high ground.
It gets better by trying to prove to be better. Not just different. I’m an easy face to punch at because I’m just calling out why you being angry that people won’t agree with you won’t help make them agree with you any more.

I never said I want to support evil people but ignoring the blatant cruelty is just plain abhorrent. You decided I was against you because I pointed out the abuse. I also think the only option at the moment is Democrats but I’m just not willing to ignore reality of the mild abuse and keep it mind as we try to move forward. You decide to be cruel and claim everyone has it coming. We are in this together so get to understanding that you don’t escape it just because you don’t care.

I am NOT saying everyone has it coming. I’m saying, “but they’re still bad tho” is a fucking utterly stupid and defeatist attitude. We KNOW Democrats aren’t good. That doesn’t magically make it a wash where Republicans need to be humored in any way what so ever.
That only means there is a lot more work to do after the fascists are cast out of power. That DOES NOT mean we act like it’s a wash between the two.
