Exactly why the aid should be tied to Ukraine. We have an obligation to defend our country first. Why are the Democrats so reluctant to defend our own border?

    How are those things connected?

Israel is not in danger of being wiped out. If Israel managed to murder every single Palestinian, that would not reduce anyones dependency on oil. Explain to me whats that got to do with anything? Israel has to kill children, and hostages apparently, so that we can drive electric cars?

Abandoning Ukraine would have a incalculable effect on US diplomacy and negotiation power across the entire globe. If Putin wins his war of aggression against Ukraine, that would not only guarantee the end of the Ukrainian people, but would encourage Putin to try to take more territory, putting the rest of Europe in danger. This could result in nuclear arms proliferation… I feel like I should not have to explain why it would be bad.

Republicans cheerleading Russia is a sign (among others) that the party has turned away from American ideals of freedom and democracy. It’s the adherence to authoritarian and antidémocratic policies that may have seemed good in the short term, which has led to the decline of the USA as a world leader and why we are no longer a shining example for other nations. It’s so frustrating that conservatives bemoan the deterioration of the nation, when that process has been largely driven by short sighted republican policies.

Israel is not in danger of being wiped out. Really? That is news to me. Last I checked they have been invaded several times by Arab nations and Hamas has the goal to destroy them. Iran now has nuclear weapons and also is starting to pick fights with Israel. I think you are the only person I have ever heard that think Israel isn’t at risk.

Abandoning Ukraine would have a incalculable effect on US diplomacy and negotiation power across the entire globe. It would do no such thing. We do not have a treaty with Ukraine. We are not allies. While I support their right to self-defense, we need to make sure our interests are taken care of as well.

      Nobody is doing that.
