High budgets, scrapped projects, fan backlash. It’s been 12 years since Disney bought 'Star Wars' and its galaxy far, far away arguably has too many broken toys.
And despite its troubles, I also enjoyed Solo on a second watch.
But even The Mandalorian isn’t perfect. Some episodes were better than others. It was fine for a TV show. Same with Ahsoka. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with a bigger budget when the movie comes out.
I still watch Solo with my annual star wars watchthrough. Is it a great film? No. But it’s fun, and it’s light, and if doing a timeline watchthrough it works well. Ep 3 just ends, you’re feeling down because of the empire, but Solo brings you back up - right before the very very sad Rogue One
Solo would have been a success if they didn’t have to fire the directing duo and reshoot half the movie. It hugely inflated the cost of that film which made it a commercial failure in their eyes.
If you think Andor is “mid,” you are very much in the minority, bud.
Andor is - and I do not say this lightly - the best Star Wars related media since the original films.
I will agree the show has a slow start, but by the time I watched “The Eye” episode, I couldn’t wait to see the next.
It is the political thriller Lucas wishes he could have written for the prequels but didn’t have his ex-wife around to help curb his terrible dialogue nor save in the editing bay.
If you don’t like it, I would be curious as to what Star Wars besides the original films it is you do consider better than Andor and why.
I really don’t know why people like Andor either. It seemed completely pointless and dull. Mandalorian was worth watching, though, tough it did get worse with time.
I dislike most Star Wars media and thoroughly enjoyed Andor. Andor is very much unlike most other Star Wars media and that’s probably why a lot of Star Wars’ core audience disliked it. To each their own.
It seemed completely pointless and dull.
I get the opposite impression. To me Andor is one of the few pieces of media produced within the Star Wars’ IP to actually have a point at all instead of just being a series of flashy action scenes and nostalgia bait.
Rogue one and andor were amazing. Which tells me, Star wars can be great if they hire passionate directors/writers and stay the hell out of their way

It didn’t help they released it. Basically 5 minutes after a mainline Star Wars movie.
Now I want to watch Andor
Again? You mean again, right?
I have never watched it
It’s a good show. Not amazing like some people say, but it’s something you will probably enjoy.
I never thought about it again after finishing it though.
I just watched Andor. I enjoyed it more than the Mandalorian, and much more than the Obi Wan Kenobi series (so far).
You have got to be joking. Andor’s “No Way Out” is literally one of the highest rated episodes of television on all of IMDB.

Yes I’m in the minority. It happens, bud.

They better mean again
Don’t trust the hype it’s not that good.
I still think mandalorian s1 is the only genuinely great star wars thing coming out of Disney.
Rogue One is second only to Empire and I will die on that hill.
I love Rogue One, but only because of the third act, and the music. By the Force, it is a slow first two acts.
God forgive me but I might like Rogue One better than Empire. Is that a heresy?!

I’m not core audience, I find it good but overly predictable in its “struggle against corporations” thing coming from Disney.
Lol, nobody got out of the way of the Rogue one director. A large portion of that movie was reshot and rewritten after the director was all but fired.
