My ex-wife has been trying to contact me for a few weeks while I’ve been ignoring her because I assumed it was just more bullshit like always. But she managed to get in contact with my dad and the reason she has been trying to get a hold of me is because she apparently tested positive for syphilis and has had it for several years. So now I have to go get checked myself… Fucking A, man… I’m allergic to penicillins and I know that’s the treatment if I end up having it. Not even in my life anymore and she still manages to cause me stress.

did she give proof or is there a chance shes just really fucking with you? desperate exes can say the darndest things. absolutely do get tested but she may just be crying wolf
If you’re allergic to penicillin, you’ll most likely get doxycycline 100mg tabs twice per day for 10-14 days. The other alternative is clindamycin injections for 10-14 days… which they probably don’t want to do.
Definitely get checked. Go to Planned Parenthood or your PCM or something.
Edit: also worth looking into WHEN you got diagnosed with an allergy to penicillin. Many children have to take it at some point and break out in hives but it’s a transient allergy during childhood.
An allergy panel can sort it all out.
If you end up on antibiotics, eat lots of pre and pro-biotics. The drugs can mess up your digestive system and it’ll be super not fun.
