now imagine how good wed have it if our bras werent made by dudes
pretty flowers and frills for everyone!Yeah, I’m a J or K cup depending on brand, and it’s almost always plain black or beige. I hate the bows they feel shitty and tacked on.
I’m a woman and I wear a 36G. There is literally ONE BRAND I can buy that is reliable and consistent in sizing and shapes. They don’t stock this size in their stores either so I have to buy it online and hope it works. Luckily it’s pretty reliable if I stick to the cacique brand.
The worst part is that my hubs can’t/won’t buy me lingerie because it’s such a shot in the dark of it’ll fit. Eventually I want to save up and have a custom set made so it fits my body perfectly and makes me feel sexy. It’s such a bummer I can’t get that from store bought items.
Luckily it’s pretty reliable if I stick to the cacique brand.
I can also vouch for their cheese! I mean, I’m a gringo but it’s still pretty good.
There are women on Lemmy? Thought we were exclusively neckbeards.
No that’s Xitter
I read that as ship “bow” instead of clothing “bow” but it kind of works either way.
Yeah same, we were primed by the mention of anchors and decks. And as someone who thinks ships are pretty, I really didn’t see anything wrong with that interpretation. I think I’ve even heard butts described as the stern before.
my partner says that she agrees with the second part for sizes f and up, and the first part is true for women sizes c, d, and e, but if you have size b or god forbid lower youre completely fucked.
“Ive never had a bra from a conventional place fit me because they dont actually use small-chested women as their models. They just take other women and scale down the size so it basically never fits right-- there is gappage and weird tightness/looseness in areas you dont want. The whole industry sucks because it was created by men and not women.”
I agree with your partner, it’s one reason I just gave up wearing them altogether.
Most bras, from most retail options, are of the basic, comfortable variety, regardless of size. You sort of have to intentionally look for the lace ones (unless you shop in stores made primarily for sex appeal like Victoria’s Secret - the secret is people don’t typically wear that crap).
Having lace daily rub your nipples, underboob area, or under arm area, leads to chafing and is really unpleasant.
And most bras, despite being super expensive, aren’t made with high quality materials, so lace doesn’t last for shit.
The lace isn’t supposed to be on the inside right?
I can’t imagine anyone wearing a 100% lace bra as a daily thing. Normal fabric with a small lace edge? sure. Normal fabric with lace over the outside? As long as I’m not doing laundry, why not. Lace everywhere? Fuck no.
Personally, I find even a lace edge or covering to be unpleasant for a whole day of wear, since the seam to sew it on is typically directly against the skin and it’s scratchy more often than not. Especially bad are the ones that have the lace covering and fold it over the under-cup edge to sew it on, cuz it tends to be really low quality lace and also tends to have the weave stretched open which makes it scratchier.
It’s personal comfort threshold stuff, ofc, but there’s a reason most bras are super basic. Especially since nobody really sees them most of the time.
Currently the D cup daily driver is

The under wire is indeed quite robust but the mesh material is very flexible, breathable, and comfy.

I have yet to figure out, in my client (Connect), how to click links in spoiler text. Thanks for the alt text, though, I legitimately respect that.
Oh my b, I didn’t realize spoilers messed up pictures. Here’s the pic:
Torrid would like a word with you.
But seriously, cute bras for large boobs are definitely a thing.

Nine guys out of ten prefer big tits. The tenth guy prefers the other nine.
Wow, misogynistic and homophobic? Talk about a home run.
